2020 was truly a year of change for Free State Care in Action (FCIA). Not only did Covid-19 hamper most of FCIA`s services, but the organisation also experienced major structural changes.
On 31 May 2020 the organisation’s Director and Financial Manager retired. This was the end of an era, but the birth of a bright future. The top management decided to restructure some of the posts. The reason for restructuring was to ensure financial sustainability and to establish a participatory specialized management model.
Ria Malan was appointed as Manager Professional Social Services, Tharina Vermeulen as Financial Manager and Melanie Kramer as Manager for Elderly Care. The three appointed managers will take responsibility for the functioning of the organization and are responsible for reporting to the executive committee.
The new management model has been established within the organization for past nine months and functions well.
Each department now has the opportunity to truly specialize in their field and provide a quality service.
The role of the working committees will focus in particular on taking the organization’s services to the next level.
